[Booking Bus Online] Seoul to Geoje island by Bus

 

 

 

 

 

 

I've lived in Geoje for like 9 years and my parents still live there,

so I need to book bus tickets once or twice a year to go home.

 

You may take a plane to Busan and then one hour bus ride to Geoje

but I've never done that.

(almost the same cost & time

but airport: too far, transfer(to bus): annoying)

 

Let me tell you how you can book the bus from Seoul to Geoje online.

Ways to go to Geoje

There are only few ways to get to Geoje by bus.

Here are the three ways I know:

1	South Seoul Bus Terminal (or Nambu Bus Terminal / 남부버스터미널)	Gohyeon	Nambu Bus Terminal -> Gohyeon	4:20
2	South Seoul Bus Terminal (or Nambu Bus Terminal / 남부버스터미널)	Jangseungpo	Nambu Bus Terminal -> Goseong -> Tongyoung -> Gohyeon -> Jangseungpo	5:00
3	East Seoul Bus Terminal (or Dong Seoul Bus Terminal/ 동서울버스터미널)	Gohyeon	East Seoul Bus Terminal -> Tongyoung -> Gohyeon	4:45

 

I always just take the first one,

because I only need to go to Gohyeon and don't want to waste time going through other stops.

Therefore, if you are not to go near Jangseungpo or want to save your time,

just take the fist one. The most simple way.

 

 

 

South Seoul Bus Terminal
(Nambu Bus Terminal / 남부버스터미널 / 서울남부터미널)

 

 

 

 

You can just take off the subway at Nambu Bus Terminal(Seoul Arts Center) Station (Orange line / Line No.3),

go out of exit 5,

then you see the bus terminal right in front of you.

Booking Bus Online: South Seoul Bus Terminal

Here are the real steps to book bus tickets from South Seoul Bus Terminal online (mobile)

*The booking website looks a little different on PC.

 

 

 

 

 

1. Search "남부터미널"(South Seoul Bus Terminal) in Naver. (or "남부터미널 예매" also fine)

Then enter the link at the very top, "시외버스예매"(Intercity Bus Booking).

or just use this URL: txbus.t-money.co.kr

"남부터미널", "남부터미널 예매" both are fine.

 

 

 

 

 

2. Choose "English" (or any other language you speak)

 

 

 

 

 

3. Select among One Way / Round Trip / Search.

I will choose One Way.

 

 

 

 

 

4. Departure: South Seoul

Destination: Gohyeon

 

Here is the tricky part.

You click the destination part,

then you're gonna see two "Gohyeon"s.

 

The first "Gohyeon" is for no.2 in the table I showed you above,

and the second "Gohyeon" is the one you need - straight to Gohyeon without any stop.

I'm not sure if they are going to update this part someday,

but it just works like this at this point. (17 Aug 2020)

I don't know why they made this so confusing eww

 

 

 

 

 

 

5. Enter the required information,

then hit "Search" to see the buses available.

Hit "Agree" in the popup window.

 

 

 

 

 

6. Choose the line of the departure time you want. 

If you click the Operator column (written "Kyungwon ,,,") you can see the journey details.

Check again if you chose the right one, not the one heading to Jangseungpo.

 

Click the yellow button in the right of the row you chose.

 

 

 

 

 

7. You can check the details once agian. 

After that, it's time to choose your seat.

Hit the seat you want.

Check the total fare, then go to next step.

 

 

 

 

 

8. Hit the check boxes,

fill in the card information of your card.

You are going to use this card at terminal to print out the real paper ticket,

so you should not use any other card you are not taking with you at the departure day.

 

"Mobile Password" is just for in case you want to check your reservation information again.

So just type in an easy one. Not that important.

 

Hit "Reservation", and it's all done.

You will see the reservation information, so just screenshot it in case you need it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

On the departure day, 

enter the terminal and go right,

you will see kiosks lined up.

 

 

 

I'm not sure if you can choose English

but I believe there are langauge options.

 

 

Just for your information:

1. Hit the left round button

2. Insert or swipe your card through the reader by the right of the screen

3. Your reservation information shows up.

Hit the orange button in the right, then bigger button at the bottom.

4. Take your card back, then the ticket should be printed out.

 

South Seoul Bus Terminal -> Geoje (Gohyeon) Bus Terminal
